The sunflower meal

The sunflower meal is a by-product of pressing sunflower seeds while manufacturing sunflower oil. It differs from the cake in the additional treatment with organic solvents. As a result a low-fat product, 1,5%, but high in crude protein to 41% is made. Sunflower feed contains up to 26% crude fiber, phosphorus, vitamins B and E as well as other minerals; its moisture content is up to 10%.
